Hi! Ready to fall in love with yet another quilt pattern? What we’re going to introduce you to today is Jelly Roll Jam II. Another beautiful patchwork work that makes all the difference in the environment. It is a very colorful piece made with various fabric scraps with very different prints as well. As the cutouts are not large, if you already have pieces of fabric from other crafts, a great option is to use them in this quilt.
You will notice, in the pattern, that if you want to increase the final size of the piece, just increase the size of the strips when cutting. The important thing is to keep them the same size so there is no mistake when assembling. But changing the size is very easy, being possible to adapt to a single bed, house, even king size. Another option is to make it as if it were a trill and use it as decoration at the end of the bed or on some furniture. It is a very versatile piece.
The materials you will need to make this quilt are the basics of all patchwork jobs. Fabrics in assorted colors and prints, scissors, tape measure, thread, sewing machine and iron. A tip that we always give around here is to wash and iron the fabrics before starting. It will give you an idea of the fabrics that release ink and can stain your entire quilt.
How about adding a border to your quilt? This part can be any size you prefer, leaving your piece very personalized. Take the edge size into account to calculate the final size of the part. You will also notice if the fabric shrinks a lot. It is very important to know these characteristics to have a piece that lasts a long time in the most beautiful way possible.
The PDF pattern is available in full at the Fat Quarter Shop, and already has adaptations for all bed sizes. If you have any doubts, the video tutorial is also available to guide you step by step. How about combining all the beds in the house? We’re sure it’s going to be a hit.
